It was time for another monthly Furniture Makeover and the theme this month was storage/organizing so I tried to figure out what I could do with an outdated breadbox and a few other pieces. Some thrift store and curb side finds end up making an awesome craft station for kids.
I loved the curves on this breadbox that I got at the thrift store last year for about $5. The little cabinet on the right was a curb side find. It was missing the glass and one door, but I figured I could use it for this makeover also.
After adding some trim to the bottom cubbies of the shell of the display cabinet, I also added some small metal label tags from D. H. Lawless. I love the extra layer of interest that they add.
I decided it would make a great place to store rubber stamps and other craft materials for easy access. This could easily just be painted and sit on one end of a child's craft table without adding the legs.
The colour is so bright and happy and I love how it ties all the misfit pieces together. So the next time you see one of these old bread boxes, think about making a mini roll top desk for a child. I'm sure they will love it. For more details you can go here... http://www.patinaparadise.com/2015/11/bread-box-turned-craft-desk.html
